A rarefied group of leading literati convened recently to evaluate the writing genius of Barack Obama. They came to a surprising conclusion: Barack Obama may in fact be a greater writer than William Shakespeare.
It's important to note that none of these folks, absolutely none of them, are addled-brained liberal lunatics.
The focus of their analysis, was of course, Obama's 1996 personal memoir "Dreams from my Father" which has rightly been acknowledge as one of the finest memoirs in politics. Respect for this work was so high in fact, that many, including the esteemed MSNBC host Chris Mathews, compared Obama to Abraham Lincoln pointing out that very few politicians can write their own biographies, let alone a minor classic like "Dreams".
Where Obama may exceed Shakespeare is that Obama was able to achieve his greatness without any practice, or, apparently, any background at all in writing. Whereas Shakespeare had a long trail leading up to his great works.
Shakespeare first worked as an actor for years, then began writing short poetic works, sonnets etc., then evolve to longer poems such as "The Rape of Lucretia".
Only after years of labor, did he begin to create his masterpieces.
Obama, perhaps the superior genius, needed none of that. As a college student, he wrote basically nothing, as a law school student, and then as editor of the Harvard Law Review, he published nothing.
Through is early professional years as a community organizer and law school instructor, specializing in constitutional law, he publish a whole bunch of nothing.
Then, suddenly, from his exalted pen, fell a prose poem masterpiece of a personal memoir "Dreams from my Father".
So Shakespeare spent years learning his craft, training and practicing. Obama did not.
In addition, Shakespeare wrote all of his works in one writing style. What has fascinated and impressed many students of our President is his exceptionalism: each new work he produces is in a new writing style. "Dreams" is poetical, "The Audacity of Hope" is described as a political "hack" job, his first inaugural was panned as "platitudinous" and his latest creation, the children's book "Of Thee I Sing", was reviewed as being "without rhythm or rhyme".
So, while Shakespeare had but one style, Obama has a new style for every published work. Clearly, Barack Obama is the superior writer!!
As the conference of literati came to a close there was a brief moment of controversy.
When some members pointed out that over time, Obama's writing seems to be getting worse and worse, and that perhaps he had used ghost writers to help him, they were tarred and feathered as racists, and their academic offices reassign to new locations, and relocated into gender appropriate restrooms.
