It was an excited crowd yesterday as Governor Scott Walker welcomed Colonel Omar Kadar and a contingent of the Libyan Air Force to Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport.
Governor Walker was joined by members of the Republican National Committee, representatives from Fox News, Newsmax, conservative talk radio, and the Grand Dragon of the Klu Klux Klan from Mississippi who was there representing Governor Haley Barbour. Gov. Walker was the first to speak: "I want to give a hearty and heartfelt welcome to Colonel Kadar and the members of the Libyan Air Force to America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. These brave men who refused to fire upon and kill their own people have come to this great land of opportunity to fire upon and kill our own people. We applaud this selfless act. It will not go un-rewarded!"
Colonel Kadar smiled broadly and replied: "We are happy to be here in America, the land of opportunity. After our work is done here in Wisconsin, we will remain to become part of America."
The Colonel was asked by a reporter what he expected to like best about America. "The season Sky Club Seats to Green Bay Packers games," he excitedly replied, "and have date with Michele Bachmann's sister tonight!"
"And your future plans for yourself and your men?"
Kadar answered: "Maybe labor unrest and union busting in Las Vegas, maybe Miami Beach, who knows, maybe even the Big Apple! We are all Americans today!" He paused and added, "We brought our own bullets!"
