The invitations to William and Kate's royal wedding have been sent and so far, Todd and Sarah Palin have not received theirs. A quick check of the guest list seems to indicate that they were never considered as guests, even on the long list.
But to have Sarah Palin tell the story, she believes her invitation just got lost in the mail. "After all," she said, "it takes a bit more time for mail to get across the Atlantic Ocean when it's being sent by boat."
Palin claims that could be the only possible explanation since, as she tells it, she and the Queen have so much in common, such as their shared interest in tea parties. "Oh yes," claims Sarah on her Facebook page, "Liz and I have been trying to meet now for ages to sit down over a friendly cup of tea, but with my busy book-signing tours and the actual Tea Party appearances and all, it just hasn't happened yet." But, Palin claims "This wedding could be the perfect opportunity to finally sit down and chat with the old bird, as they say in jolly old England."
Sarah Palin fancies herself someone whom everyone must meet at least once in their lifetimes, and the Queen is no exception. "There will come a day when I rule the United States just as Queen Elizabeth rules the United Kingdom (sic), and what better time to get together and sort things out than at a family function?" asked Palin. "At least, that's the way we do it back in Wasilla. I just hope there will be potato salad at the reception," she added. "I love potato salad."
