image for New House Leader May Dress as 'Where's Waldo' Character for State of the Union Speech

John Boehner, the new Leader of the House of Representatives, has said that he may dress as the beloved Waldo character from the "Where in the World is Waldo' children's books fame. An aide to Leader Boehner said that the final decision will rest with whether or not Boehner decides to have ad hoc seating for President Obama's address to the nation.

"If he decides to mix the seating arrangement among both parties, then he thought it might be fun for TV viewers around the nations to try and spot him in the crowd amongst all the assembled senators and other honored guest, such as the military leaders and the Supreme Court judges," said the aide. "Besides, you know how these State of the Union speeches can drag on and on. It'll give the kids something to do too"

The aide, who declined to be identified as he was not authorized to speak on the matter, said that from what he understood Boehner will dress in the traditional red and white striped cap and shirt of Waldo, along with Waldo's round eye glasses.

"You know." said the aide, "things have been so politically charged around here under Speaker Pelosi. John wants to lighten thing up a bit. What with the press making fun of him for crying and all, the Speaker wanted to show America that he can be a fun guy too. We are, after all, the real party of change."
