image for Arkansas bird deaths ruled mass suicide
Heaven's Roost leader in an undated photo

The recent death of thousands of birds in Arkansas shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve has been ruled a mass suicide.

The birds were members of a little known avian doomsday cult known as Heaven's Roost. Not a great deal is known about the cult, which seems to be similar human religious cults such as Heaven's Gate and Jim Jones' People's Temple in Guyana. Members of these cults also committed mass suicide.

Heaven's Roost is led by a shadowy figure, an owl known as The Fowl Prophet. Known for his fiery, caustic sermons, The Fowl Prophet urges followers to separate themselves from the "world of sin" and prepare themselves for the coming Aflockolypse.

Make Sal Manella's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
