Irving--Jerry Jones loves to think he is the reason that Dallas won the Supper Bowl three times under his ownership, so he fired Wade Phillips because Dallas isn't winning right now.
"I am Jerry Jones, the man who bought the Vince Lombardi trophy, and brought it back to Irving, TX. If you want to blame anyone for the poor record this year, blame Bums kid. Boy that guy is way too nice to coach the Cowboys." Jerry Jones told reporters on Monday.
When Jones was asked why he hired Wade Phillips in the first place, he couldn't seem to remember.
Jones did go on about what he thought the team could do to get back on track and win a few games, but stopped short of installing himself as head coach of the team.
One reporter even asked if Jones if he would hire Jimmy Johnson back, if he wanted the job?
"I am so sick of the coaches like Jimmy Johnson getting the the credit for the Super Bowl victories, because I am the man that paid the bills. Sure, I haven't won anything since Jimmy's team retired, but so what." Jerry Jones added.
Jason Garrett will take over as interim head coach of the Cowboys, but with the chance to become head coach.
When Jason Garret was asked by reporters if he felt Jerry Jones was turning into Al Davis? Jason Garrett said that the Raiders owner at least has a team that is above 500 right now.
