Horace Whimpley was driving along the Indiana interstate near Indianapolis Wednesday when he says he began to see money falling out of the sky. As he looked closer, he realized an armored car directly in front of him had unwittingly released several bags of money onto the road and folks were already on the scene scooping it up.
"I couldn't believe it," said Whimpley. "I was having a simply horrid morning. My life was in shambles, I was on my way to my 157th job interview for a position as a Wendy's assistant manager, and I just found out my apartment building was going condo."
Whimpley says he's never been much of a spiritual man, but for some reason that morning he had a hunch that money was just gonna fall out of the sky. "I really did," he said. "I figured, what the hell? Why not wish for a few thousand dollars? So I did."
Whimpley parked his car behind the others and began to pick up cash as fast as he could and looked somewhat surprised when he saw that others, instead of pocketing the money, were there to help the guards from the truck retrieve what they could and wait for authorities to get there.
"What the hell?" said Whimpley. "Do you think I'm gonna waste what may be the only time in my life where I actually asked for something specific from God and got it? No way, Jose. The banks have plenty."
