In Gainesville, Florida the leader of a small church that is anti-Islamic has backed down on his threat to burn copies of the Koran.
"I give full credit to Sarah Palin for this because she's the reason I've called it off."
Pastor Terry Jones said at a press conference earlier in the day that he was still determined to burn the books, even after hearing from the pope and President Obama not to do so.
Jones told his 50 or so followers that he had asked for a sign and that he had received it.
"I got this letter from Sarah Palin, her daughter brought it ot me."
"Let me read it to you.
"Dear Preacher Jones, I have heard of your threats to burn those books. Please do not do so. Should you upset the leader of North Koran, he now could easily have nuclear weapons and turn them loose as he is not too stable.
"Before you burn the Koran, please think of the millions in South Koran who are good friends with our country.
"Love, Sarah Palin."
"If that is not a sign, I don't know what is", stated Jones, as he burned the letter.
