Tehran Iran: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced today that the Burqa will be banned in Iran, allowing women more human rights as to how they can dress. He also said that the USA, EU and UN should now lift some sanctions on Iran.
Diplomats at the UK embassy in Tehran are not buying any of President Ahmadinejad's hyperbole, as he recently instituted a crackdown on Iranian women wearing or making western style designer like clothing. The ruling Mullahs were very happy with his crackdown on women's attire. The Mullahs began to see an increase in the number of burqas on the city streets, while on their way to stonings.
Further investigation by the Iranian police discovered the cause of the increasing numbers of burqas. Naked prostitutes wearing burqas were soliciting Achmeds (Johns), in broad daylight, on the streets of Tehran by slipping them under cover.
