The press conference announcing the new GOP leadership, "The Young Guns," was barely underway when spectators noticed a ripple of smirks and laughter among the press corps. Within a few minutes, all in attendance realized that the press corps had re-named the new leadership group, "The Young Putz's." No one at the speakers table was amused.

Congressman Tim Ryan of Illinois grew red in the face and left the room. A journalist from Illinois informed his colleagues that Ryan is known back home as, "the biggest Putz in Peoria."

Republicans, not known for their sense of humor, were quick to react. "This is NOT funny," said Congressman John Boehner of Ohio and swung an eight iron at a reporter. The intended victim ducked the swing and laughed. "John, you should have used your Putzer!" Boehner grew red in the face and also left the room.

Another journalist recounted to his colleagues, the old Army chant during World War 2 that drill instructors used to teach recruits not to call their M-1 rifles, a gun. Recruits were made to chant, "This is my rife. This is my gun. This is for shooting. This is for fun." The recruits were made to point to the appropriate objects as they chanted. When Congressman Eric Cantor overheard these remarks, he grew red in the face and also left the room.

"No one has a sense of humor," remarked the journalist. "Give me a break! How hard is it to vote no on everything? "Geez, No one called them The Young Schmucks!"

In related news, a staffer at the office of Senator John McCain was summarily dismissed when McCain heard her refer to him as, "The old putz."
