Little Rock, AR - Stop me if you've heard this one - Elvis, a Troublemaker and a Cowboy all walk into Charlie Daniel's office to register as political candidates for the upcoming elections.
Arkansas seems to be the hot spot for bizarre political candidates this election year with kooks coming out of the woodwork. First up is Elvis D. Presley, who not only shares his name with the popular American icon, but who actually dresses like Presley when he's not sporting garage overalls in the paint and body shop he works at in Star City. Presley recently registered as a write-in candidate for Governor of the state dressed in a fancy Elvis-like red jumpsuit while claiming he hopes to bring a new trust to the state's highest office.
Next on the list is Stephan "Troublemaker" Hercher who has registered as a write-in candidate for the Senate seat presently held by Blanche Lincoln. According to Hercher's statement, his views are far from politically correct and if you want an apology, "go pee-the line starts to the left-it will be awhile."
And while we can't find anything yet on David "Cowboy" McMillan who is also running for a state Senate seat, we can only surmise by the name that he is not opposed to gun control.
So far, these are the hopefuls that leap out at us. We'll keep checking with Charlie Daniels for any more unusual write-in candidates, and keep you informed. After all, he just happens to be Arkansas' Secretary of State.
