Fishermen and boaters have been discovering floating coffins in the rivers and waters around Nashville since the flooding there earlier this year.
"All the coffins look really old and are all wood", stated Joe Kingson, Deputy Mayor.
Asked if there had been any bodies discovered in the coffins, he replied no and referred us to a police officer there who has been in charge of solving the mystery.
"We have placed this all over our television news programs and no one seems to know where they came from", stated Officer Howard Walker. "They must have popped out of the ground somewhere but we've had some experts in and they say that while the coffins showed signs that they had been occupied, they looked almost new on the inside but badly scuffed on the outside."
Thus far 27 wooden coffins have been discovered. Teams of searchers have spanned old graveyards but no disturbances have been found.
Also, not many graveyards were in the vicinity of the flooding.
Even more intriguing, there bloodstains have been found on some of the coffins but that DNA evidence shows that at least one group of stains in one coffin were from four different people. No results on the other 6-7 with the stains.
Look for coming updates to the mystery as more news is discoverd.
