BP - America's, "Bitter Pill," screamed the headline in the Louisiana newspaper. As the federal government and state officials pondered the tragedy of the gigantic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, finger pointing ran rampant. Only BP, one of the worlds leading oil producers seemed unfazed. "What, me worry?" was one British headline, showing a picture of Alfred E. Neuman wearing a BP baseball cap.

Another UK journal headlined the oil spill story with, "Colonists Defeated At Last," and another that read, "America on Slippery Slope!" Not to be outdone, The Guardian ran with a headline that shouted, "US Government, A Well Oiled Machine!"

As the environmental and economic impact hit the USA, those that have been protesting government interference in their lives, marched and demonstrated to condemn the government lack of effort in the wake of the spill. One sign read, "Our government is AWOL!" The sign alongside it read, "Gobmint! Stay Out Of My Life."

Several news reports from the Gulf have stated that waitresses in the area are asking diners, if they want Regular or High Test when ordering a Shrimp Plate.
