image for Pants bomber says Iran used thermite in Connecticut gas blast
The explosion could be seen from miles away

Middletown, Connecticut - (Boom & Bust): Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has told CIA interrogators that rival Iranian wackjobs are behind the Middletown power plant gas blast.

He has blamed a termite (sic) hand grenade, smuggled in a takeaway hamburger, for the explosion which has shattered the Kleen Energy Systems facility.

The Christmas Day pants bomber as he is known says nutter Iranian fanatics had been practising swallowing replica termite grenades made from chocolate in the run up to today's massive blast.

The 620 megawatt gas-fired power station had been an easy target becasue of its proximity to scores of fast food outlets servicing the Middleton facility.

And a largely immigrant labor pool working in the burger sales industry was a natural source of bombing talent.

Last week UK spooks refused to comment on wildcat rumors that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is the son of arrested Camden mayor Omar Faruque Ansari.

The London politician us currently suspended from office on suspicion of being a benefit cheat.

"The only similarity between him and the Christmas Day pants bomber is in their respective first two names," local police sources commented.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is 69.
