It wasn't a total victory for "Vicky", "Brandy", "Star" and the other prostitutes in court yesterday (Friday) but they probably won the big battle.
New York City's Mayor Bloomberg had declared war on the skimpy clothed ladies of the street especially in tourist areas and stated that they were hurting the image of the city and that, if they continued, they should be dressed with more modesty.
"Everyone in NYC knows why they're out there, but it's the tourists I'm concerned about, and the first impressions they get while visiting our great city", stated the Mayor.
However, in court, the judge ruled that the "showy" side of the way they dressed, or the lack thereof, was their uniform for business.
"It is my conclusion that these ladies need to advertise in the best they can for their business, but for them to consider more the "glamorous side" and not the peep-show variety! Rule for the ladies. Case dismissed", stated Judge Daniel Hardwick.
When interviewed later by this reporter, the mayor stated that he had made his point and that he believed that the girls would come across "Hollywood style and not Tijuana."
At the same time, one of the girls, "Peppy", stated that she was glad that when the Mayor spotted them and how they were dressed, that it was on a Saturday night and not on "Casual Friday".
