Sarah Palin, Vice-Presidential nominee in the 2008 U.S. election, is busy packing for her book tour later this year. Of course she's also celebrating the bestseller (due to pre-orders) status of her memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life, to be released on November 17.
The bestseller, done with the assistance of a ghostwriter, was completed in four months. Packing for the book tour is a project almost as big as the writing of the book.
In addition to several suitcases of clothes, there are separate suitcases for each of the following:
- Eyeglasses. A different pair for each day of the tour.
- Guns. One never knows where danger lurks in big, and not so big, cities. Well, really any city that isn't located in Alaska.
- Claims of Ethics Violations. Enough said.
- Autographed books for special guests Ms. Palin may meet along the way. Rumor is that signed books with the inscription "Lots of luck, loser" will be distributed to the likes of Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, and selected members (who supposedly were not known as Palin supporters) of John McCain's presidential campaign staff.
Palin is not just a one-book wonder. She's already had discussions with publishers about the future publication of her tomes, Making Mincemeat of the Media and 101 Ways to Prepare and Serve Moose Meat.
