HOLLYWOOD - Former Speaker of the House Tom Delay, one of the best political dancers to ever appear on Dancing With The Stars, has injured his foot.
The 62-year-old pride of the GOP was rehearsing a super modified Tanganyikan Tango with his dance partner Cheryl Burke when he accidentally slipped on a banana peel.
DeLay fell to the floor fracturing the middle toe of his right foot and bruising his ego. He quickly hobbled up and demanded to know who the heck had thrown that banana peel on the dance floor.
Cheryl said that she wasn't sure but if she had to make a guess she would say that it was either ultimate fighting champion Chuck Liddell, ex-Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin, or the O and O twins, Donny Osmond and Kelly Osbourne.
Liddell said that he does not eat bananas. Irvin said that he is allergic to bananas and Kelly said that she only eats bananas at home and then only in a bowl of Frosted Flakes.
Donny reportedly was seen emphatically brushing his teeth in his dressing room.
SIDENOTE: Dancing With The Stars Co-Producer Bernadette Penderlicki stated that the throwing of banana peels or any other types of fruit peels (i.e. lemon peels, grapefruit peels, tangerine peels, or tamale peels) on the rehearsal room floors will not be tolerated.
Ms. Penderlicki has told the entertainment media that the banana peel on which Tom DeLay slipped has been collected and has been sent to The West Hollywood Clinical Clinic in order to test the DNA and find out exactly who's fingerprints are on the injury-causing banana. DeLay's doctor has said that since the former speaker of the house was not eliminated he will be able to dance next week just as long as he does not try any somersaults or back flips.
