In yet another dramatic turn of events the Republican politicians serving in Congress, including Joe Wilson and those in the Senate, along with Mark Sanford, the governor have, harkened to the days leading up to the American Civil War, drawn up papers authorizing their state to be the first to secede from the Union again.
As historians have noted South Carolina was the first to secede from the union and according to their spokesman Congressman Joe Wilson "Because every democrat is a liar, and their kids, and grandkids are liars, and because every person who doesn't agree with me is a liar, I will not tolerate liars."
Current governor Mark Sanford said: "This action we take today is to protect Republicans and their individual "Soulmates" as well as to make our state a main entry port for Soulmates and for mistresses as well."
Congressman Wilson, who said he considers himself a liberal Republican encouraged other red states to secede as well, and for the more conservative Republicans to join the new Nation to be called "The United Straights of America."
One South Carolinian indicated he wasn't sure how his state was headed but did offer this comment; "lately, most of our politicians are acting a bit strangely, but we as citizens must close ranks and continue to support them, no matter how many dumb things they do."
