ANCHORAGE, Alaska - In a true crime story that proves that some crooks are too stupid to live, the FBI arrested Jarell Paul Arnold, 34, of Anchorage after he allegedly robbed a bank after giving the teller his account number, and photo ID.
Bank officers told authorities that Paul entered an Alaska USA Federal Credit Union branch on Friday last and requested a balance inquiry from the teller. The teller requested Paul show a photo ID--and he gave the teller the requested information--along with a note printed on a bank receipt which stated he had a gun and he wanted all the money.
The FBI says he got away with about $600. He was arrested Monday.
Arnold was convicted and sentenced to prison for bank robbery in 2004. He served four years, nine months and was paroled.
An unidentified bank officer told TheSpoof.com, "Yes, he was certainly stupid, but very polite. We wish more bank robbers were like Mr. Paul."
