Say Cheese!

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA National Cheesecake Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated annually on July 30th. The observance has not been officially endorsed by any presidents, and does not have any congressional records to solidify its claim but this certainly does not stop thousands and maybe even millions of people from across the country from celebrating the decidedly delicious holiday.

Cheesecake is defined as photographs of provocatively clad or minimally attired, sexually attractive women which specifically does not include pornography. Cheesecake's subjects are attractive people, not body parts nor sexual activity. The model is meant to be "provocative", not obscene.

Two of the most famous cheesecake pictures ever are photos of movie stars, Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe. Monroe's early photographs are widely regarded as not just some of the most beautiful pin-up pictures ever taken, but some of the most beautiful photographs ever taken. The pictures taken before she became famous captured not only her beauty and charisma, but her innocence and vitality.

Bettie Page is said to be the most photographed pin-up model of the 50's. Bettie posed in photo clubs, nudie magazines, and cheap black and white prints, often with B&D/SM themes.

Whether you prefer your cheesecake flavored classy or common, have a Happy Cheesecake Day!

Bon Appetit!
