Toledo, OH - An upstart American discount charter carrier, Jet Airways, is ready to offer its customers standing room in the luggage compartments of it's Boeing 737 aircraft for an incredibly low price of $19.99 US return.
Said company media rep, Robert Lansing, "...the only catch is that you can't bring any luggage." The customer must also be able to arrive at the airport two hours ahead of time so that they, along with other discount purchasers, can be loaded into the steel luggage container and put on the plane while regular paying customers await pre-boarding.
"The cost savings for the customer is crucial. That's what they want," said Mr. Lansing. "The tradeoff is that it may be a bit more bumpy, no cabin service, no windows, no restrooms, limited safety features, and you might have to put up with the occassional armpit in the nose. Other than that, it's a good deal."
Although inflight entertainment is also missing in the luggage area, customers have been known to create their own interactive version of the word game 'Hangman'.
The reconfigured plane will be able to accomodate another 300 standing passengers, effectively doubling its capacity.
"But that's not all!" added Mr. Lansing. "Every discount ticket comes with a Zorbeez shammy wipe and two tubes of Mighty Putty."
