LONDON - George Alan O'Dowd, aka Boy George has just signed a contract with the BBC to star in his own reality show.
The show will deal with Boy George's daily goings-on while he is incarcerated at London's Petula Clark Prison For Blokes.
Producers of the show, "Boy George - The Singing Jailbird" say that the show will start filming in a few weeks.
Sponsors of the show will be Granny Gertie's Sausage Crumpets, The Fish 'n Chips Queen Restaurants, and Merry Ol' England Diet Tea.
O'Dowd, who is 47, glowed with joyous joy as he announced that he has recently formed a prison band that he has named, Boy George & The Uncultured Club.
Warden Sebastopol Pickens stated that the band is actually quite good and he added that Boy George can still hit the upper octave notes with veritable ease.
He noted that O'Dowd has actually written several songs while he has been incarcerated at Pet Clark. Two of the songs are "My Ass Might Be In Prison, But My Heart's In Manchester" and "I'm #74316869, But You Can Call Me #743."
When the Boy was asked what he likes the most and what he hates the most about being in prison he replied that what he likes the most is that there are no girls around, so he gets to be the center of attention.
And what he hates the most is the fact that he is not allowed to get married while in prison, because British prison rules strictly prohibit two incarcerated individuals of the same gender from entering into wedded bliss.
O'Dowd confessed that he had no idea that he would enjoy prison life as much as he has. Last month he was voted "Inmate With The Prettiest Lips." And this month he has been named "The Convict With The Sexiest-Looking Bottom."
He then disclosed that he was virtually heartbroken at the fact that he came in second in "The Best Dressed Jailbird" contest.
Boy George said that his lead guitar player, Ethan "Crazy Mate" Pickford (#74316060) did cheer him up by writing a song especially for him.
The song is titled, "Don't Let These Prison Clothes Fool Ya, Underneath I'm Wearing a Pair of Delicious Daisy Dukes."
B.G. also said that he enjoyed co-writing a song with the band's manager Tamtam Nagashima, wife of Assistant Warden Ringo Nagashima.
O'Dowd said that he wrote the lyrics and Nagashima wrote the melody. The song's title is "The Reason That My Pretty Face Is Shocking Pink Is Because I've Got The Ball And Chain Blues."
Mrs. Nagashima stated that Boy George & The Uncultured Club will soon be recording a live album in prison to be entitled, "Fudge -The Ins and Outs of Living Behind Steel Bars."
In a related story. Boy George has just received a $1.2 million advance from The Sidesaddle Printing Company to write his autobiography. The book should be released later this year and is entitled, Boy George, Facing The Music While Wearing A Freudian Slip.
