image for Obama's Special Olympics Gaff tied in with stimulus bill
This guy doesn't seem too bummed out by the new deal.

The stimulus package that the Obama administration put together has some people frothing at the mouth in anger. Part of the bill requires that State social services reduce cost by cutting off thousands of people who receive disability benefits.

The plan is to redefine what disability means. Those who are deemed to be developmentally disabled because of an IQ score of 72 now will no longer receive benefits because they lowered the IQ score to 68 in order to qualify. This effectively cuts in half the number of people who received benefits and saves State budget's millions of dollars a year.

One anonymous spokesperson for the department of social services stated "The savings for our state is a godsend, of course some of the unintended consequences will be that those who participated in Special Olympics who had an IQ score of 69 or above, will have to turn in their medals to the committee who runs the organization."

White house officials have refused to comment on the subject due to the sensitivity of the issue and the recent presidential gaff concerning Special Olympics.
