In Nashville, Tennessee the family of an 88-year-old woman who was billed for over $1,200 in phone sex calls suspects identify theft.
Lullabelle Riley recently received a credit card bill addressed to her husband, Lonas T., who died nearly 50 years ago. Riley said they never had a credit card, didn't think they even existed back then, yet an account in his name was charged.
Lullabelle's daughter, Lily Belle Shroeder, believes her father was the victim of ID theft.
"I never heared tell of such", stated Lily Belle. "If daddy's calling those sex ladies, he's calling from a long way off."
She called the billing company, Prepared Party Plan, and mailed them a photograph of her dad's tombstone, which agreed to remove the charges.
Lily Belle says they thought that was the end of it - until another bill arrived for over $900. The Florida-based company agreed to remove the latest charges and never bill Lullabelle again.
"I'm glad we finally got that settled", stated Lily Belle.
"I finally got through to Mama and told her everything was OK. You can't hardly get her for my younger brother, Lonas Belle being on the phone all day."
