A spokesman for the world's largest media and entertainment corporation has confirmed that the company has purchased the Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay from the US Government for an undisclosed fee.
The news comes shortly after recently inaugurated President Obama announced that the prison would be closed within 1 year.
The spokesmen confirmed that they had become increasingly convinced that Cuba would be a strong location for a new theme park and as such they had moved quickly to work with the Government to agree a figure.
It seems likely that some building work will begin immediately although the new theme park/hotel complex will not be open for business until late 2010.
The spokesman went onto confirm that the corporation intended on keeping some of the key features of the base, including likley "Sensory Deprivation Suites" merging the existing chambers with a balcony / ocean view. Water boarding rooms will be extended to incorporate a baby sitting service.
Furthermore all of the company's mascots will be wearing the now famous orange boilersuits which have become a trademark of the site.
Key points of discussion still underway include the US Government's insistance that some of the highest profile prisoners on the base are given roles within the magical kingdom including a likely position for Ali al-Bahlul as a tour guide.
