Former President George W. Bush was seen late Tuesday afternoon asking for directions just a few blocks from his former residence.
Kimberly Lewis was walking home when she was approached by the 43rd President. "He pulled over in the far lane where I was, and rolled down the window. The back seat was piled to the roof with boxes and clothes, and he had to lean across the former first lady, who was clearly a bit embarrased."
The former president was on his way to meet his former second in command Dick Cheney at a Denny's restaurant when he got lost.
"You know, I guess I just never paid attention the past 8 years," Mr. Bush later said. His Chrysler Sebring rental vehicle did include a GPS navigation device, but he claimed, "I just couldn't understandify that dagum thing."
He did eventually arrive at his destination, still on time for the early bird special, after Miss Lewis pointed him in the right direction and informed he was going the wrong direction down 12th Street.
