image for President Barack Obama Asking for White House Pie Fights, Says Bolton
Former Ambassador John Bolton says Lincoln's food fights "decided the U.S. Civil War."

Barack Obama has chosen several of his advisors in the past few weeks and some of his supporters are upset that the people he has chosen are not new faces. Obama's supporters would argue that he needs experienced people to pass important legislation.

Some political experts, however, question those on both sides, saying that Barack Obama has alternative motives to choosing people who disagree with him to serve on his cabinet.

Experts argue that Barack Obama is bringing in people who agree and disagree with him so he can settle debates through 1930's style pie fights. "President Abraham Lincoln was the first to use food to solve disputes, often resorting to starting food fights with his team of rivals." says former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton. "You may be surprised to hear that most of the deaths in the Civil War resulted from food related causes."

Doris Kearns Goodwin, who authored the book Team of Rivals, a biography of President Abraham Lincoln, said "what the f***? That never happened."

Ambassador Bolton responded to Goodwin, throwing a cherry pie at a news segment featuring the author.
