CHICAGO, Illinois - President-elect Barack Obama has told reporters that his new Secretary of State Oprah Winfrey has just bought a puppy for his daughters Malia and Sasha.

Ms. Winfrey bought the 'First Kiddoes-elect' a cute little female Yorkshire Terrier from Chicago's 'The Psssst, Please Don't Let Them Hear You Refer To Them As Animals Pet Shop.'

The nation's 'First Mama-elect' Michelle Obama and Ms. Winfrey have come up with an idea to have a contest on The Oprah Winfrey Show to name the new 'First Puppy.'

Winfrey said that the contest is being sponsored by PetSmart, Purina Chuck Wagon Dog Food, Alpo, Revlon, the County of Yorkshire (England), and Corona Light Beer.

The contest will run between now and November 26, with the winner being announced on 'Oprah Winfrey's Thanksgiving Show' which will air live on Thanksgiving Day, November 27.

The person with the winning name will win an all-expenses paid, two-weeks vacation for two to London, England, a 2009 Lexus LS, his and her's Rolex watches, a $1,000 gift certificate to Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream, and $80,000 cash.

The contest coordinator has said that they have already received 19,000 name suggestions. So far the name that is at the top of the list with 16,239 entries is 'Toto.'

Other names that have been suggested include, Firsty, Sparky, Roxie, Lady, Hershey, Scooby, Lipstick, Sarah, Cindy, and Snowflake.

In other news, The Russian National Department of Tourism has just released their brand new tourism slogan for 2009: "Visit Russia...Sarah Palin can see us. We want you to see us too."
