Unconfirmed sources report Mr Bush's political strategy for re-election involves getting a crossover Democrat to vote for him in 2004. To achieve this goal the administration has compiled a short list of crossover voters to target.
Three months of research on the project has turned up one democratic voter who is said to be likely to vote for Bush in the upcoming election.
His name is Bud Jenkins.
Jenkins, who didn't vote last time around, is a school teacher from Middleville Ohio. "My car broke down on the way to the polling station." said Jenkins "I had to run the last mile to vote and I was 30 seconds too late. I jogged up and they locked the door in my face. That's why I didn't vote last time. I was going to vote democratic."
When told he was being targeted by the white house as the possible crossover voter he said. "Those guys are nuts if they think they can get me or any other democrat to vote for this turkey." He went on to say "They must have me confused with some other guy."
The Bush Cheney team is undaunted though and are said to be examining Jenkins personal records in search of possible "inducements" that might make him change his mind.
