ANCHORAGE (FMLiveWire) -- Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Friday John McCain and the GOP were "a bunch of jerks" who pushed negative stories about her blaming her for the failed Republican election.
Newsweek, Fox News and many other media reported unflattering stories about Palin in the wake of the Republican loss to Barack Obama.
Media reports said Palin did not know Africa is a continent, citing GOP sources, and did not know that the US, Mexico and Canada are parties to NAFTA.
News articles also described Palin as a "diva" and reported she threw temper tantrums in reaction to negative campaign news coverage.
After returning to Alaska Friday, Palin told CNN that post-election stories were pushed by "all those GOP sleazebags" who helped prepare her for the debate with Joe Biden.
"Those stories were taken out of context and that's cruel," Palin said.
"It's mean-spirited. It's immature. It's unprofessional and those guys like McCain and Rove and Limbaugh and Bush and their aides are a bunch of jerks if they think they can get away with it, taking things out of context and trying to spread that crap on national news."
"We all know I'm a loudmouthed idiotic and vindictive fashion horse. They want all my Versace and Gucci and Dior clothes back too but I'm not giving them up. They are mine!"
One GOP source involved in Palin's preparation for the debate and media interviews told CNN Palin "had not paid attention to a single policy debate that's gone on in this country for 10 years. She's clueless and spends all her time ranting about polar bears and all the people she will fire when she becomes president."
