Jerome Corsi was arrested in Nairobi last week just as he was about to address a news conference to launch one of his best selling books - The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality" which has been heavily criticized worldwide for its inaccuracies in depicting the democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Without explanation Corsi and an assistant, Mr Timothy M. Bueler were whisked away to the Kenyan intelligence offices for questioning after two cookies were reported missing. The hotel had made twenty cookies, to be eaten after the Corsi's press briefing and not before. Initial investigations pointed to the two foreigners.
"We have never experienced such an incidence. We usually make cookies for our guests but none has ever tried to steal any before a press conference" said one of the waiters on condition of anonymity. "that guy must have been very hungry, he quickly gulped the first one and returned two minutes later to grab another which he hid in a book he was carrying" he added.
The police had been told about the missing cookies a few minutes earlier and subsequently launched an investigation. They suspected Corsi, but did not have enough proof to convict him. After examining a CCTV footage that showed Corsi's aide Mr Timothy M. Bueler quickly open the jar and Corsi picking up the first cookie, they stormed into the conference room ready to act.
Just as he opened the book to read the opening paragraph to the press, an odd looking object rolled from the book on to the conference table. "Freeze" said one of the policemen wielding a hot water-gun at Jerome Corsi. "you too" said the second officer to Bueler.
The two were searched and told to lie on the ground naked since their clothing were confiscated for further investigation. In the meantime, the Kenyan police chief picked one of the microphones from the table to address the press who were lost for words as they had not expected such a show. "It happened so first just like in the movies" said one reporter.
"when the police grabbed the fat guy, the floor was suddenly wet and an awful choking smell filled the air" added the reporter when asked about the strange looking liquid that was found on the floor after Corsi was arrested. "He looked very embarrassed" he added.
"These two men are being arrested for robbery and we have enough evidence linking the robbery to this book" said the Kenya police spokesman as he waved "The Obama nation" for the press to see.
"These two hungry men will be promptly deported for violating their Visa requirements, we cannot allow such petty crimes to go on unabated. They have to go"said the Kenyan police spokesperson.
"He is lucky we had cameras around, they could have lynched him or even worse make him vomit all the cookies that he had ever eaten." said one of the junior police officers on condition of anonymity.
Corsi has since vowed to return to Kenya to launch his book. Reliable sources indicate that Corsi will only be allowed to do so in the East Africa country after confirmation of a John McCain loss in the November 4th US. election.
