Call them straight-laced, dowdy and aristocratic if you wish but after listening to Sarah Palin's campaign of hate speech, the little old ladies became firebrands in the image their revolutionary ancestors.
Bostonians have rarely seen elderly rich matrons in white gloves and long dresses carrying torches in their streets. These blue haired grandmothers chanted: "Death to Obama, Kill Him, Off with His Head!"
The angry mob advanced to the Bunker Hill monument where Palin told them that Obama is a dangerous man: "That One! He is no American! Your ancestors made this country great by killing the people who tried to raise their taxes and that is exactly what King George Obama wants to do. He wants to take your trustfunds away to pay for ridiculous things like body armor for my son in Iraq."
The raucous throng fell silent as they really listened for the first time to what the inflammatory speaker was saying.
A soft hum of whispers gave way to the steady din of aggravated complaint until the crowd began to advance on Palin's podium shouting as if with one voice: "Off with Her Head!"
