Washington, D.C. Republicans trying to run for re-election on the basis of having trashed the entire US and global economy, are now saying they were never strong supporters of George Bush....A party of "Mavericks" who never agreed with the president.
Harvard professor of Political Science, Barney Hampton, observed that "Virtually every Republican in the Senate (except for 3 or 4 dissidents)...as well as most Republicans that you or I know...supported George Bush on every vote. When the Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate, in the last election ...based on strong popular opposition to the War in Iraq...the only reason George Bush was able to perpetuate his demented polices in Iraq and the US economy, is because virtually every Republican in office, backed up his 'veto-proof' minority.
Since Republicans ignored the will of the American people, in the last election, and are now facing the consequences, they are trying to say they were never supporters of George Bush's demented, reactionary and stupid policies," Professor Hampton noted.
In refering to the bankruptcy of the US government by insane levels of deficit spending, and at the same time as drastically cutting tax revenues...with the impending bankruptcy and collapse of the US and global economy, John McCain said Wednesday, "That didn't work very well. We'd like to try something a little different, this time."
