President Clinton's wife Hillary Clinton was at a movie in New York City recently when she spotted Monty Python comedian and traveler Michael Palin entering the theatre. It was reported that she immediately left the theatre, even though she had already bought a ticket and some popcorn and was looking forward to a screening of "Mama Mia."
Clinton said she didn't think it was wise to appear with anyone named Palin from now on, because she wants to appear non partisan and "you never know these days." She said the buying of popcorn wasn't a big problem because she could eat that while in the cab and she might be able to use the ticket another day, as she knew the theatre's manager because they go to the same podiatrist.
She said she was going to Zabar's Market to buy some figs and was hoping she didn't run into Mr. Palin there, as she remembered reading that "he likes figs." She said that she might get some corned beef instead, avoiding any dried fruits at all just to play it safe.
Clinton said it may be wise to stay away from anyone with a name that sounds like Palin, at least until after the election, and thought she should avoid Jefferson Starship singer Marty Balin, comedian Bryan Callen, musician Eddie Van Halen and Cincinnati dentist Rueben Fallon.
