image for John McCain Denounces Revisionist Spoof Website
John McCain fumbles technology again

John McCain attacked British website TheSpoof.com today, complaining about changes to how the site operates for authors. McCain had been writing articles on the site, under the pen name Ethan, as a way of blowing off steam from the stresses of the campaign trail. Due to the site's revision, McCain has now quit the site.

The webmaster, Mark Lowton, defended the changes in an obviously fake British accent: "Look, I had a few pints in me and was thinking about Queen Mudder, and figgered I could make life just a bit better for the lass, and then maybe she'd meet me out for a cup of tea or ... you know."

McCain remained outraged. A spokesman dismissed Lowton's defense: "That sot has been making life difficult for President McCain ever since he allowed all those Ron Paul nuts to write articles. Ethan was a necessary effort to beat those loonies back."

Other authors on the site found humor in the situation. NickFun, who used thespoof.com as a springboard to a career writing comedy on toilet paper, said that McCain "needs to get a sense of humor. His writing as Ethan was pathetic. Good riddance I say."

McCain has had problems with technology issues in the past. Back in June he referred to finding potential VP candidates on "a Google" and then admitted he thought Google was a just a funny name.
