Resistant as ever, even when W wants to agree he just can't bring himself to do it. Many sensible experts from around the world and within the US military have urged time lines for the withdrawal of troops and the empowering of the Iraqi government and its own military. With talks with the Iraqi government at a standstill, Bush has finally agreed to some semblance of a schedule or not considering his choice of words.

After all, a horizon is something that is never really reached. No matter how close you get to the horizon it still is out there. Perhaps this is the Bush intention. After all, the reason for the invasion in the first place was really out there. This led many to conclude that the real reason for the conquest of Iraq was to create an oil rich US colony in a strategic location in the Middle East.

The horizon the Bush administration has in mind is that far off day,( long after drinking Iraq dry of oil and using its location as a staging ground for the defeat of Iran and any other Middle East country that refuses to kowtow to US economic interests), when US troops will be transferred to some other God-forsaken place that happens to have rich natural resources and is strategically placed to allow for regional domination by the US of A. It is James Hilton's Lost Horizon where time stands still and no one ever ages and the dream-nightmare of US domination can go on and on and...
