After polls indicate Presidential candidate John McCain is losing ground with Hispanic and African American voters, McCain announced the hiring of his newest campaign advisor, radio personality Don Imus.
Talk show host Imus promised to bring the same level of professionalism to McCain's campaign that he brings to his broadcasts.
"When it comes to colored audiences, I'm no nappy headed ho," Imus said. "The first thing I asked when they made the invitation was, 'What color is he?'" When asked why he thought McCain should appeal to Black and Hispanic voters, Imus said, "Obama's half-white and so is McCain. People need to remember that."
"Imus has shown he can really get a response from colored voters," McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis told reporters. "It's uncanny. You'd think he was one of them himself." Davis also denied rumors that McCain was spending additional time in tanning salons to darken his appearance.
"He's a health nut, pure and simple," Davis said.
