Washington DC, August 2008: The Republican National Convention being less than one month away, Senator McCain has finally selected his vice presidential running mate.
The senator's political advisors have been arguing for someone that would insure a Republican victory in November. Choices included a woman (any color), someone more youthful, had executive experience and who would rally the party's hard right wingers back to the fold.
Senator Obama has been charging that "a McCain presidency would be George Bush's third term." In a bold move Senator McCain has chosen the sitting vice president, Dick Cheney as his running mate. Dick Cheney satisfies 75% of the selection criteria, provides continuity and knows where the rest rooms are in the white house.
This VP selection may cause Senator Clinton supporters from West Virginia and Kentucky to remember why they are Democrats, when voting in November. Related developments include Lynn Cheney filing for divorce and stock prices increasing for Johnson and Johnson (heart pacemaker division).
