Hollywood movie star Wesley Snipes is to begin filming today on what is probably one of his most captivating roles to date.
The 26-year-old actor will take the lead role of Wesley, a black actor and criminal who is imprisoned for tax evasion and various other tax offences, and goes on a downward spiral into despair and oblivion. Snipes has been researching the role for a number of years.
The star of films such as Blade, White Men Don't Pay Tax, US Tax Marshals, Hard Luck and The Art Of Tax Evasion, the black actor has plumped for this difficult and unexciting role, which he says has extreme limitations.
Speaking today, Snipes said:
"It's a captivating project, but one of my more restrictive roles. Tax is not normally an area where movies would be made, but I will endeavour to bring my usual hard work and integrity to bear, in order to endure the long lonely nights, with a greasy cell mate who would like nothing more than to say he has given Blade probeation."
Filming starts soon and is expected to take up to three years.
