Fans of presidential candidate Ron Paul were caught off guard today when California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger showed up at an event for the presidential candidate.
Paul made a brief stop at a fundraiser held in a server farm in Fresno. Hundreds of Ron Paul fans swarmed him when he got off his bicycle. Shortly after Paul arrived, a stretch Hummer limo pulled up and Schwarzenegger stepped out.
Puffing a cigar and wearing a very large Ron Paul t-shirt, the governor seemed giddy at the prospect of meeting the popular candidate. The crowd parted to allow the two to meet. Schwarzenegger gave Paul a bear hug and then slapped him hard on the back, saying "We need a man like this to straighten out our country!" The crowd roared in applause while Paul popped a couple ibuprofen tablets.
Paul thanked Schwarzenegger for his endorsement and then hopped back onto his bicycle, on his way to an event in Reno. Schwarzenegger walked back to his limo, glowing with excitement over his minute with the celebrity.
Kent Snyder, Ron Paul's campaign head, denied that the Paul would amend the Constitution to allow foreign-born citizens to become president.
