image for Mount Palomar Telescope Sold on Ebay

Pahokee, Florida (IP) - The Mount Palomar telescope was sold on ebay today for $14.95. Most would-be bidders did not bother bidding because they figured they would be out bid.

The famous telescope's primary mirror is 200 inches in diameter, 27 inches thick and weighs 14 1/2 tons. The shipping fee is $4.95 via priority shipping.

The winner of the telescope is a 14 year old boy who lives near Lake Okeechobee's dike in the small Florida town of Pahokee. The boy will use the telescope to look through his neighbor's windows and his mom said she would probably hang clothing on it as is the custom with most telescopes once their owners get bored with them.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
