A new marketing campaign for chicken products was announced at the annual meeting of the Poultry Producers and Supporters Advocacy Group of America, Canada and Mexico (aka PPSAGACM) this past weekend. In an effort to counteract the effect of marketing efforts by the National Pork Producers Council, the PPSAGACM unveiled this year's new theme, "The other OTHER white meat."
Critics claim that this campaign may be considered racially biased. The Rev. Al Sharpton commented, "What about the DARK meat? Who's representin' the dark meat?"
Hip-hop artist Fabolous had this to say, "Huh? Wha' tha fuck? Whatchoo talkin' ‘bout? Where them bitches at? Pass me that blunt . . ."
Christian Yanstien, COO of KFC said, "I think this is a big step forward in the recognition of chicken-based food products as an acceptable part of the FDA's food pyramid. If it wasn't for my wife, 'pork' wouldn't even be a part of my vocabulary."
The PPSAGACM had originally expected to unveil its new theme during this year's NBA All-Star Game with a commercial themed "Got Porked?", starring Janet Jackson, but pulled the commercials after the Super Bowl half-time show debacle.
Other entertainers under consideration to represent the PPSAGACM include Paula Abdul, Gwen Stefani and Starr Jones.
