Democratic leaders released a statement today stating that if they should lose the presidential election in 2008, they will break up the party and move into other lines of work.
"If Americans don't prefer us to the Republicans after what they have experienced in the last seven years, it's time for us to do some serious soul-searching." said Rham Emmanuel, Democratic Campaign Manager in 2006. "Maybe, it's time to follow my passion and start writing those children's novels."
New York Senator Charles Schumer, an outspoken critic of the Bush Administration, agreed with the decision.
"I can't believe we could lose in '08." said Schumer. "But if we do, it's time to step aside and let Ralph Nader have his day in the sun."
