Washington, DC (FP) - Vice President Dick B Cheney has apparently found a loophole in the law that allows a Vice President, in a time of war with the President out of country, to pardon anyone who is convicted of a crime.
Karl Rove was apparently sitting at the President's desk rearranging the President's pens and on a phone call with Deborah Palfrey in the oval office when Cheney burst in and began pummeling the rotund Presidential advisor.
"He tipped me over in the President's chair and was shouting that he was taking over this <expletive> mess and began to hit and kick me." The bruised Rove was reported to have cried. "He stabbed me in my thigh with a pen." Rove explained.
Cheney was said to be 'in a rage' while shuffling through the President's desk looking for a Presidential pardon to fill out and submit on behave of Lewis "Scooter" Libby, an aid to the President and Vice President from 2001-2005, who was indicted on five felony counts and was subsequently convicted and sentenced on four of the counts relating to the Plame affair. Libby has received a 30-month prison sentence and a $250,000 fine.
Libby is the highest-ranking White House official convicted in a government scandal since John Poindexter, Ronald Reagan's National Security Advisor, who was convicted in the Iran-Contra Affair.
