image for William Jefferson joins Corupt Bastards Club
jefferson said the $90,00 in the freezer was 'Chicken McNuggets'

Washington - (Ass Mess): Louisiana Democrat Representative
William J Jefferson joined the notorious Corrupt Bastards Club today after being indicted in a case involving bribes of $90,000 which the Feds say they found stashed inside a freezer.

Prosecutors at the US District Court in Alexandria, Virginia said today a 16-month public corruption probe focused on contracts in the Nigerian telecommunications market.

A FBI statement said when they raided Jefferson's home and found the money wrapped in aluminium foil in the frezer Jefferson was unable to acount for it save that he thought that it was "just a parcel of take-home Chicken McNuggests which he was saving to microwave at the weekend."

Jefferson's attorneys said that that the FBI's bust was unconstitutional, illegal and wholly actionable in a slander lawsuit because the case "trampled on his congressional independence and violated his constitutionally established right to be shielded from cruel and unusual prosecutions".

But the Judge said Jefferson was caught fair and square in a plea bargain arangement where his co-conspirators had agred to grass him up in exchange for the usual considerations.

The case continues next week.
