WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The US Congress has applauded the appointment of "Crazy Cal" Jennings, The Spoof writer extraordinaire, as Iraq War Tzar by President George W. Bush.
"It is with deep honor and gratitude that I appoint Cal Jennings to direct America's failing oil war in Iraq," said Bush. "After reading his inciteful and discriminating stories at TheSpoof.com, it was clear that Jennings was the only one for the job. His home page at MySpace is also awesome in its scope and coherence."
Bush went on to state how Cal Jennings will now maintain "the steady stream of lies and bullshit" which has characterized the US war to grab Iraqi oil, as well as strategic operations to ensure that the oil ultimately flows to Exxon Mobil and BP under long term contracts to the detriment of the Iraqi people.
Up to now, the Iraq war has lacked just such a War Tzar, since the war was under the direction of various neoconservative political hacks like Karl Rove and Dick Cheney.
"I will faithfully conduct this oil war to the best of my patriotic ability," said Jennings in response to the appointment, "especially as I'll be laughing all the way to the bank with my new salary of US$200,000 per year."
The Spoof editors and writers were unanimous in supporting and praising this distinguished government appointment for their most noble and laudable writer.
