Obama: 'literally millions' dead in Kansas

Kansas - (Ass Mess): Democratic Senator for Illinois Barack Obama has told a presidential campaign audience that the recent Kansas tornado killed 'literally millions' after having a drop or two too many the other night.

This sent ripples of shock among devoted followers who had just heard on coast to coast TV news that the true number was 'somewhere between 10 and 12' - ie. 11 to most people.

Mr Obama later apologised and said 'something got into his head' and made him say the 'm' word, maybe because he was tired and emotional after two days of snubbing White House invitations to meet Queen Elizabeth.

The gaffe has now caused im to slip five percentage points below Mrs Clinton who continues to dominate the ratings war as husband Bill cuts a smart PR coup in India on AIDS generic drug prices.

Obama issued a statement later saying that tThere are going to be times when I get tired of aqll this pointless campaigning... times when I get weary, dreary and clinically unfit. There are going to be times when I make mistakes and have one too few but believe me, I just don't know what the real number of times is gona be."

This was followed up at a campaign rally in Richmond, Virginia where Mr Obama said the Bush administration's war in Iraq had affected his response to the tornadoes:

"Guess I was pissed, end of story."
