image for Popular Fox Show Spawns ABC Copy: "Are You Taller Than A 5th Grader?"

Are you a contestant and/or viewer of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" and you're too dumb to answer the questions? ABC has the solution for you. "Are you taller than a 5th grader?" has full-grown adults 'measure up' to their 5th grade competition to win cash.

"I think a lot of people out there are frustrated with the enormous difficulty of answering 1st-5th grade questions. I know I am. There are a lot of us college grads out there who just aren't ready to handle that tough elementary school atmosphere... and don't know how to divide by ten. Those darn questions!" said Andy Sandman, an ABC executive, "Are you taller than a 5th grader? makes it more comfortable for everyone. All you have to do is be taller than the kids! It's great!"

"I think we really have an audience out there, including those Deal or no Deal viewers who couldn't count high enough to pick the case they wanted."

As far as finding a host, ABC will be in a bit of a lurch.

"Well, basically all the guys who tell redneck jokes are taken, but who needs the comedians when you can have the rednecks themselves? We're auditioning a large group of rednecks right now and hope we'll find the one that fits our program."

The show will premiere on ABC this fall, along with two other spin-offs, "Do you drive a nicer car than a 5th Grader?" and "Are you older than a 5th grader?"
