London - (Rotters): London-based weekly The Sunday Fascist has published a five-star hatchet job slamming Barrack Obama's Dreams From My Father as a fictional vanity publication that etoilates the classic fairytale rags-to-riches story of an 'impoverished Kenyan goatherd rising to become a brilliant Harvard-educated economist' to stratospheric levels on a par with Hillary Clinton's own self re-invention in her memoir Living Hysterectomy.
The paper's reviewer laments Obama's memory lapse of his father being a 'drunk and a bigot' - qualities which in US presidential terms have been a great vote catcher for both members of the Bush Family Evil Empire who made it into the White House, not to forgetting one or two First Ladies either.
Obama's narrative of his recollections is rated as compulsive twaddle and generally downgraded to myth status. But then the newspaper did rate Margaret Thatcher's own autobiography as 'one of the seminal accounts of moral leadership of the twentieth century' in 1994.
The paper notes that Obama Senior "was not just a deeply flawed individual but an abusive bigamist and an egomaniac, whose life was ruined not by racism or corruption but his own weaknesses".
Citing former drinking buddy Kenyan writer Philip Ochieng the review says that "although charming, generous and extraordinarily clever, Obama Snr was also imperious, cruel and given to boasting about his brain and his wealth."
The reputation shredding process concludes that "he was excessively fond of Scotch...and was drunk every night. His boasting proved his undoing and left him without a job, plunged him into prolonged poverty and dangerously wounded his ego."
A postscript by an unidentified psychologist analyses Obama's own character by quoting from his other book The Audacity Of Hope:
"Someone once said that every man is trying to either live up to his father's expectations or make up for his father's mistakes, and I suppose that may explain my particular malady."
Just exactly what that malady may be is uncertain. But political spread-yer-legs betting index Aintgottaprayer.Com rates Obama Jr as a 250/1 chance for the 2008 White House Presidency.
About the same chance as Hillary Rodham Clinton getting elected and making Bill her Vice President.
