The American Society of Dog Owners has sponsored a study on why American dog lovers have dramatically changed their dog buying habits in the past few years.
Americans traditionally were buying larger breeds, Labrador Retrievers, St Bernards and Doberman Pincers. The trend has shifted to Yorkies, Toy Poodles and miniature Collies. What could be the cause?
"We've honed it down to one constant, said animal researcher Brad Terrier, feces volume, it seems that it is no longer politically correct to leave your dogs, left behinds, behind".
The researchers traced the trend of purchasing smaller breeds down to a time period which coincidentally coincided with fines being enforced for not curbing your dog and leaving no traces and peoples politically correct attitudes about pooper scooping.
The study found that people find little dog poop almost cute. Not too offensive to bag the little bee bee type excrament. They found a dramatically different reaction when people were polled about larger breeds poop. People find picking up mounds steaming of St Bernard poo disgusting, repulsive, almost gag inducing.
One St Bernard owner said, "I'm turning in Thor and I'm converting into a dog I can call, Tinkerbelle".
In a sort of related study done by, Nike shoes, they found people walking found it less offensive to step into Tinkerbelle poo than Thor poo.
Thats the straight poop!
